In determining the potential bloom date for any specific canna cultivar we can only speak in general terms. There are several factors to consider but when we are comparing different cultivars grown in the same general area we find that each cultivar group will bloom at about the same time if you have several plants of the same variety.

"Assuming" you have correctly identified your varieties above I think you will find that;

C. Musifolia will begin to produce very small blooms in the late-season.

C. Wyoming will begin to produce very large blooms late mid-season.

C. President will produce very large blooms early mid-season.

As stated above I think your President will begin blooming before the others.

They should be what I said. I ordered from Horn Canna Farm this April.

You know, a few days after I posted this I noticed a "weird" leaf emerging from the President and then it occurred to me it was a flower bud. Yay. It should be opening up in a couple days, I reckon. I am noticing a flower bud on Wyoming, too. So it's transpiring just like you said. Well, done!

Hello Canna Friend in Wyoming! Yours look great!

Yes, Cleopatra was the first to bloom and has three more buds coming. Then Bengal. My Wyoming has some buds and should be opening soon.

Bad news about Bengal though. The Japanese Beetles seem to favor that light foliage and light bloom color. They are really taking a toll on that poor plant.

I have a couple of other cannas that don't have any buds yet. They may not make it to bloom before Fall. If not, I'll have to store the tubers again.

Cleopatra is my favorite canna. She has proven to be not only beautiful, but also very reliable. A very tall vigorous grower. And so far, the dreaded Japanese beetles do not favor her the way they do the Bengal.

Does cleopatra Have varigated leaves? I’ll definitely be adding that one next year
