Yet another Mom quilt done

This is another quilt started by my Mom. Around 10 blocks were done, and she had cut all the other pieces. I pieced blocks from the pieces she had cut and added borders. I also incorporated a bunch of squares she'd assembled into the backing. And the label (not shown) is made from a small piece she had embroidered.

This will go to my great-nephew (her great-grandson) for his wedding next month. I have two more of her quilts to finish for the other two great-grands.

This is beautiful, and thank you for posting the back and front both! I know you didn't pick the colors, but you still put what was given to best artistic use. I am new at quilting and making my first backing and so inspired by the quilts posted here. So much creativity and talent here.

I imagine the GGSs didn't expect to get a quilt from their GGM. How special. You did a great job of designing it. It is very pretty.

That is a lovely idea! My own mother would have loved the blues, aqua and turquoise in it. I love what you did for the backing, too! That is something special.

Thanks, everyone! I need to get it washed and off in the mail soon. The wedding is Aug. 8. According to my sister in law we should have gotten an invitation, but not so far!

I received this text from my nephew yesterday:

"Kids opened the quilt last night. Aaron (the GGS) loved it! He has such great memories of grandma. Cassie (new wife) was sorry she didn't get to meet her after hearing us swap stories of her. Great gift. Thank you so much for doing it."

I was really pleased to hear this! I was sad we couldn't attend the wedding, but it was too far to go and still have hubby make his church commitment on Sunday.
