Seed Pod Question

I did some pollen dabbing this spring, just harvested a pod of Pink Aloha today. Fat plump seeds. I noticed a little white spot where the radicle would be and it looks like it is trying to sprout already. Looked at it under a magnifying glass and think this is what is going on. Should I refrigerate it like I have done the rest of my seeds or should I soak it or plant it or ?? Have never seen this before. Thanks!

I would plant it. My experience has been that the seeds don't do well in long term storage if they are already sprouted. It is not unheard of for seeds to sprout in the pod.

Thanks Nancy - you always have such great advice! I will plant these tomorrow. I started looking at some others and saw that Frosted Vintage Ruffles, a diploid, looks like it might have some tiny bit of white showing. Will plant both. Thanks for your quick reply!
