A Morus sp. - Mulberry perhaps.

Looks more herbaceous than woody to me.

At that stage I find pix hard to differenciate between mulberry and giant ragweed…although it might be neither. ;-)

Ambrosia trifida can have winged petioles, Morus alba never does. Both have leaves crenate to serrate. Ambrosia trifida has a pubescent stem, Morus alba doesn't. Morus alba has alternate leaf arrangement, Ambrosia trifida opposite.

The leaves look alternate which put me off the ragweed. I’m really not seeing a mulberry though.

If the leaves are alternate, then Tithonia diversifolia?

Looks like a tithonia to me as well.

I thought tithonia also but the leaves don't look velvety/hairy enough to me.

The stem is pubescent and noticeable. The leaves are puberulant and it's difficult to see those hairs.

I recognize it because I've grown the orange version myself and many people here have the giant yellow variety.
