Is this some kind of optical illusion or is that a 1.5" diameter tree in about a 6" diameter pot?

I'm not liking the long-term survivability here. Is this going in the ground soon?

And I would not have purchased if the nursery could not identify. How would you figure out pollination partners?

Wow. This is a beautiful small apple tree. I would only repot it once the fruits are harvested. From the picture, it looks like Granny Smith Variety.
