Sunshine blue should help provide pollination, and grows well in containers. I am not sure that you will get enough chill hours for Pink Blueberry. I am in 9a and most years it seems Pink Lemonade does not get enough chill hours and does not bloom. On colder years it blooms better.

San Jose gets 600+ chill hours. Isn't that enough?

I keep forgetting that zone 9 on the west coast is much different than on the Gulf coast. Yea, that should be enough. I average about 500 to 550. I also noticed on Fruits and Exotics website that they suggest using rabbiteye blueberry to pollinate Pink Lemonade. I just can't remember when exactly Pink Lemonade bloomed. I would suggest an early blooming rabbiteye. I have both SH and Rabbit eye so I had plenty of pollinators.

Thanks, yeah even if no produce, it's a nice ornamental plant. Though I would be sad if I don't get any fruits. When I picked up from home depot there were a few berries on it that tasted good, so I got it.

Regarding pollinator, I read somewhere that SHB should also pollinate them but was unsure. But I agree that rabbit eye might be better. Any particular one from rabbit eye that you like / recommend?

I have heard that they will make some berries even without a pollinator. But it will only be a few. Don't really have much experience with rabbit eye. Most of mine were SHB.

I used to live in san jose (85/camden ave) and grew only shb plus pink lemonade and legacy which is a nhb/shb hybrid. they all set fruit well i dont think you need a rabbiteye just make sure you have acidic soil maybe occasionaly fertilize with amonuium sulfate if using tap water
