You can't do anything about looking at the washer/dryer from the toilet, but I don't think that's a big deal. If you need the storage, you can place shelves on the side of the washer/dryer, but since they would be facing the doorway, you would want closed storage because looking at laundry soap and other items on shelving would look worse from the hall than just the plain side of the machines. The beige color you chose looks great, but I would not use those screens in the room.

Take the screens outside and plant a vine or two in front of them.

That is quite a nice bath/laundry room for a rental ! iI have owned rentals and lived in rentals, and they were not nearly as nice.

If looking at the w/d is a big priblem while on the toilet you could hang a curtain on a "L" shaped rod. It will easily slide to give you access to the w/d when you need it and hide it when not in use. However. if this is just a half bath I don't think it is a big deal. After all, how long do you plan ti be in there. Just add some pictures, shelving with baskets or doors, a pretty rug and maybe a plant. Good luck to you. Let us see what you decide to do.

To answer your question, the screens make it look like you're trying too hard to make it look like something it's not.

The tall cabinet will hide the W/D from the hallway, but I've never seen a washer that doesn't occasionally get off balance and shake. Make sure the cabinet is anchored in place and can't fall over.

Another possibility is using an L-shaped shower curtain support that attaches to two walls and also has a ceiling support. Hang fabric shower curtains from this support to completely hide the W/D. Then just push the curtain aside to access it. The photo below shows how this was used to hide a water heater. It should work just as well for your need.

The scroll screens are quite decorative, and don't accent anything - even if mounted on a wall - they're too big. A simple wipeable canvas art would be good - I have them in bathrooms.

Put some words on washer and dryer you can sit and read

Seeing the side of the stacked W/D from hallway isn’t bad view when door is open, but make it a habit to keep the door closed. You need laundry and bathroom storage - IKEA closed door unit, or open bookcase and baskets, a small plant on 1 shelf, extra hand towels and guest soaps on another. if you don’t fold laundry watching TV, add a small table for folding clean laundry. If the screens are wrought iron, they can go outside…put them against a fence, or in a large pot, as a trellis for climbing plants.

My friend hid their washer / dryer by running double sided velcro along the top and hanging some really nice stiff silk like fabric. It looked great. I totally undderstand why you don't want to look at the machines. And I agree with others that the trellises don't do much for the room.

look for a folding screen/room divider on fb marketplace. I don’t know how often you do laundry, so it might be a pain, but would certainly hide the w/d

If you choose to put a wood cabinet to block the side of the w/d, you could also attach a collapsable hook to the side to hang items as you remove them from the dryer. I am finished with my oomments. Let us know what you decide to do.

The screens are pretty but I would NOT put them anywhere near the toilet. Males "mist" (like a waterfall) when they use the toilet. That will get all over the screens. They are too hard to clean.

W/D is just about like white toilet/sink. Fabric to cover gets messy, or was it misted? lol... I'd add what it is you like, and the floor would seem to direct the direction since earthy/rustic? is house rustic? the plumbing pipe bit is all over the place.

I'm still 'on'... to me the height [which also covers art] is for a large room with more space to 'fill'... and to overlap. Seems like OP's initial screens, a tall item should backdrop in the corner.

Very nice transformation & that added storage is really great. I do agree with @everdebz about the reeds in vase being too tall. I was wishing I could see the full picture from door way. Maybe put them in corner by sink or on door side corner?

I would remove the reeds&vase and the vase with flowers. Don’t use the screens, either. I would get a vanity cabinet with storage below the sink. Keep it simple. Maybe a curtain on a swing-out rod could hide the washer and dryer when not in use. When I remove clothing from the dryer, I like to hang them immediately, so I would want a rod and hangers nearby….unless you take everything to the bedroom fir hanging or folding.

The storage unit looks good. I'd remove the vase/sticks and the table and vase of flowers. You don't need any accessories on the floor of a bathroom. Keep it simple and clear.
