Thank you for the confirmation. I keep feeling like I’m being gaslighted and I’m tired of calling them back to complete the job. I’m not paying until the work is finished so at least I’m not out any $$$.

I was able to post a pic using the camera icon. I was having some issues with my iPhone until I installed the update, but other than that I’m not sure why you’re not able to upload. I’m not very tech savvy.

Looks bad but…are they assuming you will have trim/baseboards (the norm) that will cover the areas at the very bottom?

It’s a good season screened in porch area with tile flooring so there aren’t any baseboards and no trim will be installed. It’s an older area that gets some rain when it’s windy and raining hard. Good thought though. Does that help your assessment? Thanks.

Well, its not the best paint job in the world, from what I can see, however, I do think you need baseboards of some type in there all along the bottom, to make it look much nicer. Maybe consider pvc type which will survive getting a bit of rain on every now and then. It looks very unfinished at the bottom, of the walls, and the post.

Here are some larger pics. It’s a screened in porch with a stucco bottom and roof frame. The painters did a wonderful job on the frame, it’s the details where they’ve dropped the ball. I also had the paint my fascia boards. I’ll admit I’ve got a big house and it can be tricky to get to some parts of the fascia, but there’s also 1 more spot in the fascia that they missed. The picture isn’t the greatest but it’s the best one I could take with my iPhone.

Cat - I will admit that I’ve never thought of putting baseboards on this area. Is that possible with the stucco? I’m quite ignorant when it comes to carpentry or fixing things around the house (but I’m learning a lot here and from experience).

I would agree with what you said…they seem to miss the details. i dont think you are wrong for expecting a better job. Maybe mark the areas with blue painters tape that concern you. Address your concern with whoever you signed your agreement with.

Trim might help but im not sure what to use in that setting.

looks like they are assuming you are putting base board in. Have you explained you are not?

Thanks Molly - it may just come to that. I found rotted trim around my garage. I decided to do the work myself since I was tired of calling the painters to come out and do their jobs. I originally was hoping the painters could take care of it, but changed my mind and completed the trim around both garage doors (replaced trim, and a lot of wood, painted, and put in new weather stripping) while the paint job is still incomplete. I’ve sent pictures and had the owner out after the first time I was told the job was completed. Blue tape with a neon sign may just do the trick. Ha!

CO kitchen designs - trim was never discussed. I never said I was putting in trim and the painters never asked. There are other parts of the area that are painted to the tile flooring. I had the owner come out and I pointed out some areas (including the areas in the pictures) and was told it would be taken care of. About 50% was completed.

One lesson learned is to avoid companies that subcontract the work.
