Feedback on Anderson Tuftex engineered wood flooring

Does anyone have experience with engineered wood flooring from Anderson Tuftex? I’m considering one of their newer lines, Noble Hall, but have found very little reviews on them. Thanks!

Emily/Peter- I am on the search for engineered flooring but have not run across these. In looking at their website, I see they are 1/2” thick. My contractor recommends a minimum 5/8”. Realize this is a tiny variance but wonder your thoughts. I don’t care that they can only be refinished once.

I am not familiar with home flooring pros, however, they give a good overview of Anderson (subsidiary of Shaw) and price comparison chart.

Emily- was just reading about Sturga floors on this blog. Beautiful floors and love the stair threads.

    Hi Jill!

I also saw the Chris Loves Julia post, which is how I stumbled across Stuga. They installed Ingrid, and it is stunning. Greta is also beautiful-very similar to Ingrid but is a bit lighter. Both were contenders but were at the top end of our budget. I ended up going with a slightly less expensive option that looks similar to Greta but was under budget and in stock. I think Greta and Ingrid are out of stock until early October. Good luck in your search!

We had Tuftex installed a little over a year ago. We removed our maple to install thus line because we wanted wider planks and a lighter color. I was going to cost almost as much to refinish our older maple as a whole new floor so we replaced them.

It's horrible. It scratches and dents EASIER than our old maple. The boards have started cracking and developing holes where the cracks started. I would NOT RECOMMEND them to anyone.

This flooring is horrible! It scrarches and chips very easily. It was installed in July and as I've cleaned I would see a little nick here and there and after a few months of just living with it new nicks/chips/splinters appear. I contacted the store I bought it from and they filed a claim with Shaw. Shaw resolved that nothing is wrong with their product and we can have the boards replaced (at our expense of course). The pictures below were after a about two months after the install. I have several more pictues from around the house. DO NOT BUY

We had a bad experience with Anderson Tuftex. It dented, chipped and scratched so easy We are puling it all out after only one year.

What are you installing to replace the Anderson Tuftex you are pulling out? We are close to pulling the trigger on it for a new construction house and cant find any real reviews. We are willing to pay more if it means better quality but how do you compare? They all dent / scratch when hit with a hammer and have the same wear layer. The only advice my local flooring stores have is ”pick the one that looks the best to you”

We are putting in Shaw floors Landmark Skiced hickory… engineered wood but better quality

I would recommend looking into buying from LL Flooring. They back their product and the flooring is spicifically desgined for their company.

If you decide to go with Shaw or Mohawk from a distributor, read the warranty and product return policy. Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that Shaw nor the distributor back their product and nulled the agreement based on the flooring going down before the painting was done and applinances installed. Weird… yes, and our flooring was covered in Ramboard the entire time. and I have pictures. The appliances had nothing to do with the flooring in the dining room, living room and upstairs. Bottom line is a big manufacturer isn’t going to take responsibility.

For you that have had issues with the Anderson Tuftex, which product did you have installed? We are looking at the Bernina Hickory and Bernina Maple.

We are going to install the Anderson Tuftex Imperial Pecan Chestnut in our new home. reading all the reviews, it seems there is good and bad. Most of the time folks only post the bad.

Did you find any good reviews on this product? We are looking at Anderson Tuflex Imperial Pecan flaxen.

We had Bernina Camrena Hickory installed in Febraury 2017 and I've regretted it since March 2017. The surface on the flooring (at least then) was very thin. Considering the price, it should be wear safe. It's just my husband and I in our home and it's been absolutely awful. So many nicks and there is even a wear scratch not going through the wood but just scrapped off the friggin paint. Worst purchase ever.

Did either one of you ever install the imperial pecan? How do you like it?

Homeowner here who went through similar deliberations on flooring 3 years ago. I started this thread-see above. After a ridiculous amount of research on engineered wood flooring, I concluded that I wanted to go with a manufacturer that would give me the thickest wear layer that was in budget, was not made in China, and did not have a history of terrible reviews on the BBB because of defective products. That is why I went with Stuga. 3 years later, we are still happy with our floors. Are there scratches from daily wear and tear? Yes. We have a 55-pound husky and 2 kids under 11. All engineered wood flooring will scratch or dent. We have had no issues with warping or major defects. An engineered floor with a higher wear layer can be refinished at least once. My advice is research the specs on the flooring you are considering.

We are building a river house and considering Anderson Tuftex Nobile hall- is there a product that is comparable in color in stuga? I dont mind the scratches- we live hard- I have all boys. BUT i dont want it spintering. That would be awful.

Also, any recent info on AT for those that have installed it?

    Thank you all so much!
