Kitchen Countertops... Help!

Kitchen Countertops... I just don't really like anything!

The patterns in the cambria quartz look so fake and repetitive to me, but the warranty is appealing.

I love the idea of quartzite, but it's expensive and I'm worried about some of the posts I've read about staining at the edges (despite being sealed). I was all set to buy 2 slabs of White Lux for almost $13k ($3k over Cambria), but then spoke to a woman who had to replace her White Lux quartzite 6 months after install because of terrible staining/etching. No one has samples of the quartzite to test... It feels like a very expensive leap of faith.

I've looked for a more subdued granite, but haven't had much luck.

I love the look of the high gloss Dekton, but the slabs aren't wide enough to accommodate my island.

I'm looking for any dissenting voices... am I right that Quartzite is a gamble? Any suggestions for an alternative I haven't considered? Any quartz countertops to consider other than Cambria?
