Leave the beam as it is. And no crown molding, which doesn't go with this style.

Thank you both! We’d like to do some type of trim. If no crown moulding, any other suggestions? Our edges aren’t perfect unfortunately so would like to hide that, haha

Either fix the edges that don't fit, or just live with it. Any type of crown molding won't work imo.

Leave the beam and no crown with this type of ceiling I would use the smallest simplist trim you can find and paint it the same as the walls

Thank you all!! Great idea about painting the trim same as the walls, I never considered that! We just found that the company we purchased the barnwood from has a type of trim also! We just ordered a few lengths to see if we can make it work. Otherwise we will go with a simple trim to match the walls.

Or we may try this trim from Home Depot. It looks like the same exact wood as our center beam

If you have to use a trim, you want it to blend in with the wood that is already there - not anything that will stand out.

We just finished our room after waiting weeks for the fan. Thank you all for the advice, we ended up using the trim sold by the same company and love it!
