Growing Blueberries in Massachusetts

I started growing a Blueberry plant this year and originally planted in the soil, before realizing I was planting in clay soil with a pH around 7. I then transplanted to a containerafter about 2-3 weeks of being in the ground. The container soild mix was 1/3 topsoil, 1/3 peatmoss, 1/3 topsoil amended with vinegar. The plant is doing better now, but should I expect to see fruiting the first year?

I went to a container as a way to control the soil strata. The plant is likely to grow 4' tall by 4' wide and the pot is 2' wide. Is this sufficient?
