Very few again this year.

I found five Japanese beetles and squashed three of them to death. I've only seen one Junebug. But that doesn't mean there weren't dozens or hundreds that I just didn't see because they were out later in the day.

A few but not many.

We didn't see many Japanese beetles or Junebugs this year. Usually, they attack the peach trees when the fruit ripens, but not this year.

Seems like most of us have seen little or none at all.

Here in Ohio zone 6a we have tons of the pesky beetles. They especially like my rose of sharon and hibiscus. Thankfully they leave the lilies alone.

Shawndee - I think my rose of sharon bushes are what first drew the beetles to my yard. I did have any until I planted four rose of sharons. They especially go after the one with white flowers and a burgundy center.

My rose of sharon is light blue with a burgundy center and there are piles 10 deep on the flowers. I've been trying to pick them off and throw them in a bucket of water. The poor flowers don't even get a chance to open.

I didn't see a single beetle nor any damage from them this year. Maybe they were rained out. We have had only an rare occasional day without rain for so long. even though we are forecast to have few rains for a while, we had a several hard downpours today. The weeds have also loved thew rain but I am making progress at last in ridding most areas of the jungle.

Kay: You can send some of that rain this way. We've had rain but not a good long soaking rain for the past couple of weeks.. Supoose to go back into the 90's starting today and through most of this coming week.

Shawndee: The JB's would be on our Rose Of Sharon bushes in NY but here, none so I hope it stays that way.

Julia, we aren't very likely to have rain this week according to forecasts, but that was the case yesterday too and we had several episodes of very heavy rain..

I have been going out to weed in early mornings and coming inside when the heat increased and have managed to make headway but every time it rains it stops my work.

I have great hopes of getting the plants out early this week and will let you know and I would like to send you some of the rain.
