Can one rescue a dried out cutting

Just got out of the hospital..... hubby has been trying to take of my roses.

When I went in I had a couple of cuttings that I had taken out of their plastic cup. They were doing quite well. Now the leaves are crunchy and some browning on the stems... not black... they looked dried out.... but I thought they were gone so I went ahead and took them up only to find out the roots are still white.... the bottoms look fresh, but tops are dry....

I don't really feel like doing too much.... but if I can save it I will try....
