What Hostas do I Have & Will They Pollinate Each Other?

I’d like to try growing hostas from seed this winter. I believe what I have are old standbys (S&S, June for sure). Do any of these look compatible based on your best guess? Thanks!

If you are asking for predictions on what type of hosta you will get, then it's a matter of genetics. Hybridizers get all types of different varieties when they cross a plant of a species with another plant of the same species. What are the dominant characteristics of each of the plants, etc. Have some fun and see what you get.

not sure i understand your question ...

i fresh flower.. with fresh pollen.. will pollinate another freshly openned hosta flower ... hosta ...

id be confused to find out there are incompatible hosta ... i THINK ... its part of them all being part of the same species ..

pretty sure that is not SS .. in the last pic.. but yes in the other pix ...

Last pic looks like Royal Standard. My flowers are coming up just like yours. If it is, the flowers will be white and fragrant! Under the tree, the two green ones appear to be Blue Angel. when they bloom in June, the flowers are very distintive……..resembling hyacinth blooms. Good luck with your efforts!

Royal Standard, that’s what it is! I knew it was an old stand-by. We were enjoying their scent yesterday.

I just want to have some fun. I had a fair amount of hostas at my old house, but I never once had any produce seeds because of bloom times and sterile varieties.
