Tub spout off centered

I just had my bathroom remodel completed. The tub spout is 1 inch off center to the tub drain. What can I do? The bathroom contractor admitted that it was not centered and said that it should be. He did not say why. He has been paid in full. I did not notice this until I stood in the tub. Please also note that the handle for the faucet is not pointing down but is pointing to the word 'off' on the plate. Is that ok?

I think getting a white overflow valve is a brilliant suggestion. Although it is bothersome when things don't meet our expectations, sometimes it is for good reason (framing may not have allowed for the pipes to be centered).

Talk to the contractor, explain that this is really bothersome, see if he can have someone pull the two tiles and redo just that small section.

(If the contractor, or you, took pictures during the process you may know where the 2x4s are located and know without opening anything if it is even possible to move things at this point.)

If he is uncooperative or their is an issue with getting matched tiles or ruining the waterproofing, leave it go. No one other than you will ever notice and it really isn't worth the emotional energy of allowing it to drive you crazy.

Move on to enjoying your home and spend your energy on loving the people in your home.

I'd rather have it centered on the control than the drain...but, that whole set up would drive me crazy! I'd have wanted the center tile to be centered over the tub with the controls centered in that tile. I doubt you can do anything about it without redoing the whole thing.

The good news is that it will be viewed most often from the side and, as you found, not that noticeable from that view. It's weird because it almost looks like the spout is aligned with the control and the drain but the overflow looks like it's off to the side. I'm sure it's just camera angle? If it's not and the overflow really IS off center, I wonder if you could find a white one to match the tub so it wouldn't be as noticeable?

The spout is aligned with the control and the overflow is definitely off to the side. Thank you for your suggestions.

Ah, just try a white cover and see if it doesn't fix the issue for the most part.

You should be able to adjust the handle so that it ends in the down / off position. Usuallym it's just a take off / rotate and put on a different knurl.

True, except it was glued on. I have contacted Kohler for replacement parts. They are so good with customer service.
