How to prune weigela?

I planted two Sonic Bloom weigelas last fall. Some branches broke off after an ice storm, but they both survived winter well and flowered in spring. They've grown vigorously this summer. As you can see, they are leggy now. I've seen conflicting info on pruning them, both how much and when. Advice, please, so I get maximum blooms next year? I am in 5b; one is on the south side, the other is on the west, under partial shade.
