Tutorial on Posting a Video

I don't know if this will help, but thought I'd describe how to post a video on here.

1) if you don't have a youtube account, go to YT and set one up - it's free

2) log in and on the left is a menu, scroll down to "your Videos" and click on it

3) a new window will open up (it does on mine)

3a) go to the upper left of the window and click on create

4) click on "Upload videos"

5) an "upload video" window appears - Click on upload files

6) select the file you wish to publish (a prerecorded video from your phone etc)

7) follow the prompts - I made these public but there are numerous options available

8) when finished - publish your video

9) copy the link, then after logging into this forum, simply hit upload video and paste the link into it.

10) your video will display in the message

It's a fairly easy process after you do the first. Enjoy....

You wouldn't believe how much time I spend on Youtube and yet I never knew how to upload my own video! Thanks for the mini-tutorial. Maybe I will post my elephant ear video!

Popmama, fantastic! Next we want intros, credits, music, interviews, directors cuts....

I'm glad the lesson helped someone. Sometimes the videos express more than the stills can convey. So now we have another tool in our toolbox.

Btw, the plants look great.

When I first started posting videos on forums, the biggest issues were file size and format. Most platforms are fine with MP4, so converting to that and keeping the resolution reasonable saves a lot of hassle. I also learned to double-check audio levels before uploading, because fixing that later is annoying.

Usually it’s just upload, wait for processing, then paste the link or embed code if the forum allows it. A short title and clear description help people actually click and watch.

If you need to quickly trim or convert a clip before posting, https://www.movavi.com/ can be useful for that. I’ve used it mainly to resize videos so they upload without errors.
