Personally I would keep the Craftsman detail. To me homes that remove the details of their original decade always look "homeowner renovated". Maintaining details and finishes of the homes original design era generally adds value. The arch has a casing typical of that Craftsman era that is expensive to duplicate today. At the time it signified that the owner had the means to add these types of wood finishes.
