I'm very interested in this rose. But the only thing I am concerned is its color looks like similar to Princess Alexandra of Kent, which I have and love very much. I have a limited space, so I try to choose each of my roses with different colors.

@KJ (9B, San Jose CA) As far as I know QOE is narrower which means space saving and it’s healthier. I would say PAOK’s bloom is a slightly brighter pink but the colors are similar.

Gorgeous Ben. It has a fluffier, more petal filled look than my late, huge, unlamented PAoK. I love Q of Es surroundings, too.

Cute, I think you've made a great choice with this lovely, low maintenance rose. I'd like to see an update on Q of E as she progresses. Diane

@BenT (NorCal 9B Sunset 14) In our climate the spring blushes are big clusters and in the summer one opens a time so it always has some flowers on it. New buds are coming out even without deadheading. Love this rose!

Anyone compares QOE with all dressed up? Somehow they look similar to me.

@KJ (9B, San Jose CA) It literally does not stop. Such a bloom machine! I have 6 grafted ones and ordered 6 more own root bands. That's how much I love this rose. I'm happy with a whole garden with this rose lol.

@Cuteleier Z6 KS oh my, so vigorous! My PAOK takes a very long break between the flushes. Its spring flush ended in May. Now three months later I finally see some tiny new growth coming out. I'd love to have one with continuous blooms!

Agreed, Queen of Elegance is exceptionally beautiful. She grew tall and upright quickly. Her color is slightly smoky and variable with warm pink in the center, changing twice more until she's almost lilac on the outer petals. She's a non stop bloomer and mine has a strong, classic rose scent. The blooms last forever on the bush. And, she's in afternoon shade. Interesting that we all get a different scent.

PAoK was one solid color from the center to the edge. I removed her last year because she kept growing bigger but blooming less and her canes were like tree limbs. I've seen pix of some that are much prettier than mine was.

I was at Otto's on Saturday and came across QOE as a 24" tree rose -- looked it up and found this thread. And I bought it! I was sold when I saw its parents are Life of the Party (Huntington's 100th) & Koko Loco! Now…where to put it?

Any updates on habits and preferences and whether it needs total sun or partial shade or more/less water? Tips/tricks/advice/hacks? Best color neighbors? Photos?

Deborah, mine is definitely on the narrow side as far as bush habit. Unfortunately, mine is placed where it gets the hot afternoon sun and I do think she would be much happier elsewhere. I water and feed same as all my roses and she has deep blue green foliage . Very pretty in spring and flushes off and on all summer, though not as quickly as some.

I agree with Judi. QoE would like a bit of shade as the flowers are thinly petaled.

Thank you so much, Judi & Carol. I planted my new QoE near Eisvogel and Princesse Charlene de Monaco. I'm going to try to wedge in either Marion Ross or Young Lycidas nearby... though YL is less lavender, more...deep pink? Maybe the Marion Ross would be better. It is in front yard, so will get a ton of morning/early sun, but is shaded from the late afternoon sun (when it is hottest). I actually removed my Impressionist (some of you have liked this one in the past). It's been in for 4 years, but has been a once-bloomer for me. I gave it to a friend in a different micro-climate. Maybe it will perform better for him. I would have kept it, but I have nowhere for a climber open.

Ordered Queen of Elegance budded bareroot from Edmund’s after getting a back in stock email. Can’t wait to see how it does. Also ordered All Dressed Up and Cathedral Bells! yay!

Deborah - yeah, a once bloomer isn't the best if you're expecting continuous garden blooms. :) Which I am, lol.

Im glad to hear that the fragrance is lovely. does CB get large for you? i really wish I could visit a large rose garden and see and smell some of these in person 😅

Echo - my grafted Cathedral Bells died on me during the Great Garage Die Off many years ago. I have a new one this year that is own root and hasn't grown much. I'm expecting great things from it.

My good friend and nearby neighbor has a Cathedral Bells -- I think it might be performing the best in her new-ish rose garden. And it smells lovely. I've been envious!
