i would go with the puck lighting as it more stable. For example my landscaper, at least twice a year will cut a line while triming or turning soil etc, where as a puc is not at the mercy of general upkeep! and frnkly looks more expensive IMO.

Follow dark-sky guidelines for outdoor lighting. "lighting should

• Only be on when needed
• Only light the area that needs it
• Be no brighter than necessary
• Minimize blue light emissions
• Be fully shielded (pointing downward)"

You could install low-voltage path lights along the walkway; perhaps cone-shape lights, or arch lights (or a cool Modernelle light) that would focus more light on the path rather than the fence and shrubs. Low-voltage wires can be pushed into the dirt; they don't require the protection of 120 volt wires (instructional video). Complete the dark-sky project with suitable, shielded dark-sky fixtures for the house walls and porch.
