small entry way with closet facing entryway

I’m trying to figure what to do with my entryway..I have a very small entryway about 3.5 feet and once I open the door I see a closet…behind the closet is the stairs to go to the 2nd floor…what are some designs I should look to to open the entryway? Would a half closet be good? Any assistance or ideas would be greatly appreciated
