Wow, is that ever pretty and dramatic! I think it would be easy to overwhelm your space with too much of a good thing, so I would not use it for the backsplash. I'd pick something very neutral to let your colored cabinets and counters have the starring role. I might pick something in the family of the floor color, but it's hard to say without seeing both the floor and the cabinet color. Can you post those?

The design should be used to balance out the light and dark shades of the other elements, so if you have dramatic cabinets and countertops, you may want to choose a light backsplash to bring more depth to the kitchen and make it feel fresh. So, I recommend bright colors for backsplash.

BS in a very subtle grey or white like in the slab would be stunning.

Something solid color and very very simple. Match grout to tile. You do not need to draw any attention to it.

What color green for your cabinets? I don't know the name of this one but want to do in our kitchen.

a smokey white that is close to the lighter gray in the counter. But it might really depend on the actual green shade of the cabs. there are many greens. Dark green is usually cool and along w your floor thats why a smokier very cool white ...just bordering on gray. a warm lighter green w more yellow in the shade makes a different situation. know what is happening w the green. You could do one of the hazey smokey looking glass tiles ....[it would work well] .... personally prefer ceramic tile for a splash.

An ivory or super light grey tile would work. Agree that you should not use the stone for the backsplash.

It would be very helpful to show the cabinet green, the actual floor selected. An inspo picture is also very informative.

In the case of dramatic , highly veined and patterned tops such as these? A kitchen layout via your cad cabinet plan can be wise as well.

Backsplashes are just one element in a whole picture. Can you repeat this granite as a full splash? I'd not be inclined, frankly. But before knowing the REST of the entire "picture" - inclusive of the current and planned conditions? It would be foolhardy to proffer advice: ) as to this or any backsplash.

I would do a backsplash in white or a pale grey-green. I would not use the granite for the backsplash.

Is the green for the cabinets already a given? Personally, I am not seeing dark green cabinets with that stone as the best pairing.

I am trying to vidualize the backsplash and a gray would not be the best choice for dark green cabinets, although it would be fine for the granite.

All three elements have to work together, cabinet to backsplash to counter.

My gut feeling will be once the cabinets and granite are in, you will find it difficult to choose a backsplash.

Without seeing the other colors in your kitchen, it would be hard to say with certainty what the backsplash should be, but my instinct is to go with something simple and neutral. The countertop will be the focal point, and if you add too many other colors/elements you may end up overwhelming it. I would be looking at something simple, with a neutral color, a larger tile, and I would set them closer so that you don’t have too may grout lines. Would love to see the kitchen when it is complete!

I need to see the csbinet color for sure and also a pic of the flooring this all needs to be considered also ake sure all the lighting id LED 4000K before this choice is made IMO you wait for wall color and backsplash until all other elements are installed I sure hope stainless appliances for sure.I do wonder about the green with this counter but I need to see it all.

Agreeing with Sally Eagan with simple and neutral - a photo search of “green cabinets” in Houzz has many great examples of both tile and slab backsplash that are easy on the eyes -
My own preference is a classic 4” matching slab (although can be very effective higher with/without dramatic larger piece above stove). Here’s just one photo from Houzz search

Wow, that is a spectacular stone - love it! Good advice above -- keep it simple and no to using that stone as the backsplash.

ETA: Although, I do want to say I don't know that white will be the best choice for trim and walls with that stone, but it does matter what the rest of the space looks like. I see that stone as going well with a mountain cabin-type look -- rich, rustic tones (read: no white). The *right* green would pair beautifully, the wrong shade/saturation would be...all wrong. But maybe rustic isn't what you're going for - ? Pics of the rest of the space would be really helpful, as would knowing the overall vibe you're going for.

I hope the green you’ve chosen for the cabinet color is very muted and not bright. It would be helpful to see it here. I also hope you are not putting wood-look tile next to a real wood floor.

I agree with others... those counters should be the visual star of the show. Anything too busy in the backsplash will detract from the dramatic look of the counters. A light gray or creamy white simple tile might be best.

I think a dark olive would pair nicely with the stone. Again like I said earlier we need to see the kitchen and materials. Agree w Jan that we need to see layout and inspiration. Personally I love dark and dramatic, and using the granite as backsplash may give this result.

Not suggesting that exact color for your cabinets above, just showing how green cabinets and stone backsplash looks together.

I'm not going to lie. More often than not, these very bold and dramatic stones are chosen by folks who've never had them.......and just as often in kitchens that can not "take" them. They become over kill, in a sense.

Even here, unless seeing the whole that could take this top? I'd restrict it to an island, with a plain perimeter top.

If the op is reading between the lines ALL above posts ? She might take the opportunity to provide a fuller picture of all plans.

Very dramatic…almost overpowering. If you use it for the counter, go plain and light for the backsplash…perhaps a very pale gray or another very light color that matches one of the lightest colors in the counter. If you use the dramatic stone for an island, do the perimeters and backsplashes in one of the light colors. A leftover piece of the granite can be used as a top
for a rolling cart or small stationary table.

If you want the full vertical impact of that stone, maybe use it for the backsplash and choose a plain countertop to coordinate with it. One of the lighter gray/greens could be stunning.

LOVE your slab! I also have dark green cabinets, but the lower ones only. I did a white backsplash that is a very close match to my 3 white uppers (and white walls)...because I also have a busy stone. I would not run that stone vertical, keep it on the counters only. Also, I hope that your kitchen is a pretty good size, the busy stones work better when the counters have the right amount of space to really show it off. I would wait until everything else in installed until you worry about the backsplash.

Wow. Gorgeous and my thanks for not picking a white quartz with little gray squiggles (sincere apologies to everyone who has that; it's just not my thing). I used an exotic granite - although less bold than yours - with black cabinetry. My island was very large, and not a huge amount of countertop, so the island was the attention-grabber. I used a very, very pale aqua glass subway tile for the backsplash. I also think using your slab for the backsplash would be too much, and you have to consider the possible problems with pattern.

I think you need a very, very large and natrually sunny kitchen to get away with that stone. It is beautiful, but once cut and put into a kitchen, it will take on a very different look. Absolutely no matching backsplash..... Even if the biggest brightest kitchen, that would be too much.

Assuming your island or counter tops are not the size of that full slab, which part are you using ?
