It's probably not the one you were thinking of, but I have a gorilla cart I've been using about the last 10 years. Still enjoy it. It finds uses other than the garden too. When the compressor went out on my refrigerator and I noticed late at night after DH had gone to bed, I loaded the cart with all my food and wheeled it out through the laundry to the garage refrigerator. When a friend was helping his sister in law move, he borrowed it and loaded it up with all her books and things in smaller boxes, made fewer trips out to the van. When I'm defrosting my freezer, I'll put the food in it, put some blue ice on top, cover with a beach towel and everything is fine in the 45 minutes or so it takes to defrost, wipe dry. DH does wash the tires for me so it can come indoors.

I like that it dumps....loads of compost, soil amendments. Purchased at a local hardware store for about $15 less than is showing now but almost a decade ago.

I have a gorilla cart as well. We use it to haul the trash cans to the end of the private road (about 200 yds uphill) and it is invaluable for schlepping heavy bags of mulch, potting soil and dog food from parking area to door or garden. And new plants too !!

I do use a regular plastic bin type wheelbarrow in the garden as well but it constantly has a flat tire.

I have two of the "residential grade" carts. Bought first one over 20 years ago, and it has been so great, that I bought a second one 4 years ago. I have a large yard and extensive gardens over two acres, roughly, and do love having more than one of these carts. Both carts are still going strong, even the older one. Wish I myself were in such good shape...

My carts both have the 20" bicycle-style wheels, as I find those make handling easier over my bumpy terrain, and I don't mind having to inflate them once in a while. Options include regular wheelbarrow wheels or a flat-free version of the spoke wheels, both too heavy for me.

These carts are lightweight and SO easy to pull or push even when heavily loaded (up to 400 lbs) -- especially for this 4'10" little old lady (I'm 3/4 of a century and still plugging along, albeit more slowly these days). One hand is all it takes for me, sometimes.

And there are replacement parts for just about everything, if needed. The only thing I have replaced in all these years is one set of new wheels.

By now, if you have read this far (!), you may assume that my enthusiasm for this particular cart is enormous! In fact, altho I doubt the authorities will allow it when the time comes, I want to be buried in one of them, lol. But which? The blue one or the original green one??? =)

Mine is made by Garden Way which is a company that i don't think exists any longer. It is made of wood, not engineered wood, and is a medium size. at the time they came in small, med and large. I have had it 20+ years and it has never failed me. It is kept indoors of course.

If it was me, my son got me one for Christmas a couple years ago. Last year he got me the snow plow attachment. Kath, is the barrow plastic. I'm looking at it too. I like that it can be used as a dolly. I have so many heavy potted plants which I can't lift. Frankly, I don't think anyone could without a dolly. Being in S. Florida, I worry about plastic as it doesn't do well with the sun here.

Back in the '70's, when I was raising horses, I had a Vermont garden cart. It had huge wheels like bicycle wheels. It was very well balanced and easy to use. It was made out of redwood and it literally lasted almost forever. You could stack five bales of hay on it and pull it very easily. It was expensive (to me) back then. I think it cost over $300. Harbor Freight sells one that looks like it. It is only about $125, I think. The one I bought there lasted two years.

My original looked like this...I believe it was available in 2 or 3 sizes and I got the largest, but it was a lot more money than this.

I love my gorilla cart 1,500 lbs, bought the 2nd one right before the price jump. Now at Walmart online is $569.70! There are smaller ones for $95+, cheaper than Worx yard cart. :-)

I am not looking for cheapest. I like the functionality of the Worx cart - it will do much more for me around my yard. I already have a regular wheelbarrow, and also one of those large steel utility carts (which I NEVER use - an old BF gave it to me and I really need to just get rid of it.)
