When I remodeled our current kitchen I was going to get a double sink like what I already had. My daughter talkec me into going with a large single sink. I am so glad I did! After eight years in this kitche it still makes me happy to use my Kohler Whitehaven.

What material are you considering?

Right now I’m leaning towards stainless steel, but I’m open to suggestions.

I really think it all depends on personal preferences and habits (and on whether this is your only sink or whether you have a prep sink). Many people here say they like a single bowl, but I want two separate bowls. I am going with a 60/40 split.

Not a pro, but @Joseph Corlett, LLC is a pro and frequent contributor here. He recommends the HUSH (Hercules strap) system for any sink installation. Not a sink recommendation, but adding it because no matter what sink you choose, you'll want it installed properly!

I’ve always disliked double bowls….so hard to clean large pans (unless you have a double bowl configured with a large dimension for one of your bowls).

If you go with stainless, make sure your interior sink corners are slightly rounded. Sharp right angles are a real pain to clean. If you like a double bowl because you use each side for separate purposes (soaking, drying etc.), you can always add a square dishpan inside your large bowel for those purposes.

Don’t know the size of your kitchen or the dimension of the sink you’re considering, but I would suggest looking into a workstation sink. They come with interior lips which hold removable cutting boards, strainers etc. and can be very convenient. We have one in our scullery which has a cutting board. Keeps all the debris from cutting veggies etc. inside the sink keeping the mess off your counters.

Lots of good ideas. I will look into all of these. Thanks for the tips.
