LS Paisley Print

I have had this LS Paisley Print for two years (maybe 3). It hasn’t grown much in that amount of time. It originally burned where I first placed it. As a result, last summer I potted it and babied it until the end of summer and then put it in the ground. Here is a pic from May 2021:

Crown and roots look good….. so what am I doing wrong?

Medio variegated ones dont grow as fast. some burn and dont grow at all.

due to too much white. green=chlorophyll = energy to the roots.

Medios have to be thick leafed and very vigorous to survive. they also dont tc well.

i saw one at the park that was really chewed up. and everything else looked good.

its no wonder most of the ones on the market come out of fortunei.

It looks like it need a bit more soil, as it seems to have heaved a little.

One of the cats seemed to like laying on or near it so perhaps that pushed away the dirt. Also I always worry about covering too much of the crown and may have not planted it deep enough.

My LPP sulked for about 3 years after I planted it, and then got bigger and is now thriving. I have no idea why.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I remember Chris, from Hallson's, saying it was a slow grower. I have two and I do find them slow. Maybe a top dress of composted manure might help it along?

I will add some nice organic soil and hope that it will come back stronger next year. I will keep trying and have patience……….. 😬
