I like plain dishes, preferably white. No pattern except perhaps for a thin, neutral border. I think they’re elegant and food always looks nice. I couldn’t eat anything off black plates. Unappetizing to me. Perhaps consider prettier placemats as well as repairing or cleaning your vertical blinds, to make the space cozier.

Thanks Etta. Yep when I am able to those window treatments will be torn down and replaced by maybe Roman Shades. The sides of the table are a dark brown like a cappuccino as most of my furniture in the condo. I know what u mean about black dinnerware. The set was given to us to use until we got something we liked. We also have the marble look ceramic tile.

Having trouble finding placemats small enough to fit six place settings on the table. Any ideas u may have?

Ooh I know what you mean about 6 placemats not fitting. I tried using round ones once and they fit, but it was cluttered. But It looks like you have square ones now? They may take up as much space as round actually. I ultimately switched to tablecloths because it was easier. That may not be your aesthetic but I had young children and it just seemed easier. I swapped them out and washed them as needed.

These from Target are simple yet have a bit of texture. You could mix and match if you like.

Thanks Etta. Will check them out.

We love this table and have a matching wine cabinet so didn’t want to cover it up with a table cloth this time but last table I did. Yeah finding placemats that fit correctly is impossible unless I can find someone who can custom make a set for me. 🤷‍♀️

White dishes! Food looks great on white dishes. After I replaced my old blue gray dish set (I donated them to Salvation Army) I then purchaced a few different sets of white Mikassa plates and bowls. You can then get any serving platers or bowels in white. You dont have to be to matchy matchy with the patterns. Mixing it up looks good too. The white dishes also can be paired with any colored serving pieces you have.

Thanks! That’s so far 2 for white 0 for color dinnerware. 👍
