I just had my pool remodeled in Houston by Platinum Pools, a top rated builder in TX. I've had many issues all summer during the project, but this is solely about the current PebbleTec issue. I selected the PebbleSheen in Platinum Grey (I think this is a color unique to Platinum Pools) and it was installed a few weeks ago, less than a month. Right away we saw imperfections, marks and divots all along the bottom and wavey marks along the sides. These imperfections are mostly only visible at night with the light on (you can see some of the divots in the shallow end during the day). I sent picture to my builder and he advised it could be plaster dust and to keep sweeping, cleaning, etc. The imperfections did not go away and 3 days ago we had to drain the pool and the plaster subcontractor came back to polish the plaster and try to correct the imperfections. It looks better, but the issues are still there and very visible. There's nothing more the plaster guys can do without jeopardizing the integrity of the plaster (by polishing etc). Is this common with freshly installed PebbleSheen? I expected it to be smooth and pretty perfect, not looking like acne scares on a teenager's face. The green water pics were taken last night once the pool was filled back up (water still needs chemicals, that's why it's green). The blue water is after 1 to 2 weeks of the initial pebblesheen install, before the polishing work to try and fix it, and all chemicals were in making the water clear. I don't know what can be done other than redoing the plaster. This was an extremely expensive remodel, I could have built a brand new pool for the price. So this is just not acceptable. Has anyone had this problem and how was it fixed? If it looks like this now after it was just installed, I can't imgaine how bad it will look in years to come. Please give me any advice you have. Thank you!
