Read what you posted outloud. You have a faux attachment to something that requires negative attention and you probably will never use. Hmmm! Kind of like hoarding for someday. I’d remove it. Figure out why it gets wet and whether there is damage and/or mold that needs removal. If you feel you need to “do something” with the space, decide what problem it might solve and turn it into a positive.
