Painting cooking range

I am looking to get started with a kitchen refresh soon. The dishwasher is silver. The stove is white and black. Fridge is all white but it is installed off to the side.

The cooking range is glossy metal and I recently spray can painted some outdoor furniture with similar metal. The outdoor furniture came out very nice, glossy smooth finish. I am wondering if I can buy a couple of spray cans, mask some areas, cover others with drop cloth and turn the cooking range silver? Has anyone ever tried anything like that? I had to scruff up the furniture metal surface with sandpaper first. Not sure if the spray paint will just refuse to stick to the range surface.

The range came with the house and it works fine. It would be a shame to throw it out and get a new one just for color.

I know it won't work for the fridge because the finish is that spotty rough white. But I'll just wait for it to die.
