i would beef up the posts with wood not brick maybe add some corbels for interest…are you going to be oainting the red brick? do you want a eating area ir just comfy conversation areas?

Angel 18342 These are the same tile. I just finished the grout today. I already have 2 pallets of brick and have to find a use for them. I like the cornel idea with brick too. I just like the beefier look.

Also we will not be painting the brick. The brick is not red. It’s in the brown family.

Idk how much brick is left over... could be repeated with fire pit away from this brick.

Metal planters -- steel alloys that gain a rust-like appearance over time. Maybe place rectangular by every other post, on the dirt butt up against the concrete. Have some fragrant plantings too.

No more brick no more brown
Paint ceiling to match the neutral color of the mortar used on house brick….stain the wood trim on the house to match the dark stain on deck…will look much more cohesive.

Do not add dark brown furniture
Look for neutrals and add color…blue is a wonderful accent with browns……Add a outdoor rug, and be carful that tile will be slippery when wet!

Leave the posts as they are IMO anymore brick will just look too hevy I also would not add wood IMO you have enough finishes . i would paint the ceiling a nice sky blue quite light . Then add your furniture . As for color sheme the easiest is to carry the colors from the space next to this inside .

Thanks Patricia. We wabt it to look ”heavier”. the deck looks ”twiggy” looking back at the house from the playground area.

I should add, we are only adding brick to about 36-42 inches.

Christian, we have a very similar under deck space I'm looking to finish like yours - pot lights, fans (no TV though). What did you use for the "ceiling" and how do you manage drainage?

Thank you. We used a underdeck company…they used lightweight metal slots (I believe aluminum). They did the wiring and have lifetime guarantee. It never gets dry and is a great space!

Don’t do more brick..it will look so 1980…..beef up the columns with wood and corbels…it will look amazing….more brick next to that light tile is not the way to go!

It won’t be the full height with brick. Others in nhood have this and it looks classy.

I understand you are doing the bottom portion of brick…still would not be my suggestion with all that brown brick already…the thing is your light floor tile next to that brown brick…I would avoid anymore of that mix…are you painting the ceiling a lighter color?

Thanks. Yes, we are painting the ceiling to a lighter white. I’m hoping once the furniture, rugs and things are down, it will be less apparent. We shall see. I appreciate all of the advice too so keep it coming!
