Lighting Bedroom Kid's Room

I'm installing custom bunk beds, and need advice on lighting inside the bunk beds. I'm looking for a sconce that has an on / off switch, so each person can choose to keep the light on or not. And also where the light isn't directly exposed, so kids won't hurt themselves. Seems like it should be simple to find, but I'm struggling to find good options. Thanks for suggestions!

If the light "isn't directly exposed" it has to be installed inside something. What is that something?

What's wrong with an LED wall light? Do you think they're dangerous?
