We have a ranch and our front door is similar to the 3rd one posted by Beverly--ours is frosted glass with 3 divided lites.

Our garage door has frosted glass panes along the top as well--provides light and privacy.

I can't see the gates you are referring to but pick something stylish: I like Maureen's suggestion above with that cut-out detail. Those such elements provide an overall impression of a cared-for home.

Normally I would steer toward MCM doorors but the windows keep that from being a choice so Beverly's ideas are great and if those are fake flowers get them to the garbage can now.

i love MCM doors!! That's my problem. I don't like any of the ranch style doors. Can you think of any MCM that would work? Black preferably.

Patricia, I was afraid my windows prohibited any MCM door?? While I appreciate Beverly's choices, I was hoping for something less predictable and with more of a pop!!!

I think you could do MCM while keeping the windows BUUUUUT you might need to paint all the white trim around the windows a dark brown/black including the dividers if they are true divided light windows. Then that would mean painting the other white trim around the exterior and then perhaps painting the body of the house. It’s the white that’s throwing everything off from your MCM vision and wanting black. Superimpose MCM doors on the house and take an honest look at whether or not it works or will feel off. One must be honest to the homes design for it to truly look good IMO.

Your siding, brick pavers, window style, and Adirondack chairs reinforce the "ranch" part of ranchhouse. This is not an MCM-style home. I would suggest you get your 'pop' from some stellar landscaping concepts around the house.
