I agree. She is gorgeous. I love mine too. She is a good bloomer, stays healthy and has survived my neglect this summer. I love how she gets those mauvy tones.

What do you guys think of the fragrance? And what is her shape? If she’s a tall, narrow style I could squeeze her in by Neptune

That's gorgeous, Bellerose! I have her too. I got her this spring and the bush has such a deep, healthy green look, and a perfect shape. Her blooms are such a lovely blend of punk and mauve, but I find that they fry pretty quickly in the location I chose. Too much strong afternoon sun. I hope to move her to a better spot this winter.

Gorgeous! Reminds me a little of Princess Alexandra of Kent but it looks like Queen of Elegance has a much lovelier bush shape. (At least on photos on hmf). What do you say? What is her bush shape like? Does she have tall bare canes or is she nicely filled out?

I'm also a big fan. Scentuous was sold out, and I almost tripped over Queen of Elegance as I was leaving the nursery. She came home as my consolation prize, but I think it was meant to be. Beautiful, healthy, everything I look for, even fragrance, which is hard to detect in my dry climate. She is in half day shade and competes with tree roots, yet she still blooms as much as others in all day sun. I love her unusual dusky coloring. Mine is also taller than wide with foliage all the way to the base.

Flowers, you said the magic words-tree roots and shade….this is definitely on my list now!

I just planted mine out yesterday. She's such a beautiful rose and really stood out among all of the other roses at our local nursery. There were only two left and I can see why.

Oursteelers, I thought of you while I typed that. One end of my patio bed is under a Honey Locust. A Red Oak also lends a little shade during part of the year.

Ugh the maple roots are so bad, they are so thick and feathery-I’m putting in my order with Regan’s tomorrow for QoE. My trees are lucky I love the cozy feel they bring or they’d be in some serious jeopardy!

The shade from maples is so dense. I shed a few tears when we had to get rid of our oldest maple in front of the house. I still miss it. I love trees, too. They add a settled in feel. Yes, cozy is the best description.

@noseometer...(7A, SZ10, Albuquerque), I am in ABQ also, nearish the foothills, and I have QoE second year and it does really well if you can give it a little shade. I originally had it in full sun and it blew pretty quickly in summer but it's such a pretty rose that its worth it IMO. If it were paint, it would be a Farrow and Ball color. I did move it to where it gets periodic shade but I'd probably still grow it if all I had was full sun, it's just such a beautiful color, like a rose on an antique postcard. Right now my plant has 5 fat buds ready to open and the open flowers are definitly lasting longer in the cooler weather.

Thank you cactusandroses. I was pretty sure it was just a location problem with mine as well. Mine is planted where it gets blazing afternoon sun as well as reflected heat from the stucco wall it's planted beside. The bush is happy and healthy because I keep it well watered and fed. I have another spot in mind for it and hope to move it this winter. I certainly am not planning to get rid of it! The blooms are gorgeous and smell terrific and I have noticed that the last few blooms have stayed nice longer as well because of fall temps.
