Where to start herringbone pattern on backsplash

Hello! I am planning to tile my kitchen in a 2x10 herringbone pattern. I have been reading a lot about how to start it properly so the ends are even and I think I feel good aboit that part. My question is- where should i start it? if i pick a wall and can ensure my ends are even, do I then work off that corner so it lines up in one corner and the do the same for the next corner?

I read a thread about tile size and someone went into detail explanation (thank you) about using 3 lines, one on each skde kf the center line are the outside lines meant to equal tile size? If I’m going to use a 2x10, would i measure 1in from the center and mark it on the left and right?

In this installation I started at the centreline of the cooktop and worked outward from there.

I think they were about 3x12.

Jacquie there is no easy answer. For instance where there is a strong feature like the hood above I would center the pattern on that with no concern for the corners. Even when there are two features perpendicular I might do the same even if the pattern isn't perfect in the inside corner since usually something ends up placed there. If the splash has a very prominent 'end' you may want that to have a whole tile... If you post your kitchen elevations we might be able to provide further advice

Thank you for your response.

The wall with the stove is 137 1/2 the stove sits in at 37 3/8 from the shorter right side, 18 1/2 height and 30 wide.

Backwall with the sink is 152 7/8

The shortest wall is with a tall cupboard and fridge (this one I figured i would do last since its a corner that we have some counter top appliances) is 68 1/2

I’m working with a height (with variances) of 16 7/8 - 17 1/8

I hope my very new diyer explantion makes sense. Thanks so much for your expertise!
