Should I replace mini blinds

I'm tired of the tangled cords and the dust, is it time for different window treatments?

Only you can answer that. Are you prepared for the price of all new?

YES if you're tired of them it's time.

Tired of them is a great reason to say goods-bye!

Yes! And I will tell you that plantation shutters will totally dress up your home! Split tilt is really nice too!

You may want a simple shade instead. Post some photos of your windows and what you need to accomplish in terms of function for some ideas.

Yes. They now make cordless blinds that are super budget friendly, or plantation. Plantation shutters are expensive but beautiful. You could get roller shades to fit any budget. Im sorry to say though that dust never rests. Keep on top of it with a good duster and it will be easier to control.

Motorized blinds….no cords and the convenience of pushing a button to open and close.

it's very nice to have cordless blinds, top-down function, etc. but who knows where the dust goes on accordian blinds! eep!

I replaced my mini blinds with 2 inch cordless blinds. Result? A more updated look and much easier to clean. We have LOTS of windows. They all look the same from the street, but have different accompanying treatments on the inside: valance, cornice, floor length side drapes. Very pleased with the result.

Not a pro. Just some thoughts. Picture would be helpful.

The newer blinds usually no longer have cords. While they look a lot better, I found that there is one drawback -- like a pull shade, you must be able to reach the bottom of the blinds with both hands -- and not just to lower them but to either raise or lower them. That can be a chore if you have furniture at the window.

If it is mostly the visual you don't like, you could add sheers or even drapes atop the blinds -- choosing the double rod and use a valance and you could pull your shades all the way up but still keep them for light and privacy control as needed. This is easier to do if your blinds are inside the window frame rather than overlapping the side walls.

Depending upon the window, you might be able to use plantation shutters.

Or, if the windows are large, you might consider vertical blinds with a cord that is a loop rather than loose.

You have some great ideas. My windows are very plain. Since one of the windows is right next to a corner fireplace it has always been a problem for me to try and come up with something.

This is what I put over the kitchen sink, a valance I purchased from Etsy and a cheap accordian blind I only use at night.

Yours are just regular blinds, not mini blinds, which I think makes a big difference. The blinds look fine as they are, and function well with the limitations of your space. You could use roman shades, but for windows that size I think you're better off with the blinds. A solar roller shade could also work, but I think your blinds are better than that for a front room.

No help here but I am not a big fan of mini-blinds. I have them in my classroom, and they're old /tangle-y /hard to maneuver. Even if they were new, I wouldn't be crazy about them.

Your wood blinds look great and so does the kitchen window! You could possibly add some tie backs to change up the look with the blinds.
