So many choices....what does the rest of the space look like?

On my monitor, I see some lighter vibrant spot of blue, but I can't tell if the main streaking is more gray or deep blue. If leans blue, pull it out with your tile choice. Check out the selections from Fireclay. Monitors don't do them justice -- I've seen the blue glass choices IRL and they're gorgeous (you can order samples).

Following this. Choosing quartzite slabs this week and that one is on my shortlist! Love it!

Hard to tell but this has a hint of blue and sheen. Most likely I am doing this in a herringbone pattern.

That is a striking slab. it will be beautiful. i would definetly not do a backsplash that is busy or competes with it.herringbone is a lot of lines that will competes with the long line direction in you slab.

Have you thought about no backsplash and just painting the back wall with a washable paint

You really need to bring home/order lots of samples to get the right color. We can't tell from the computer, but I love Fireclay & Encore. Maybe a very light gray.

The color is probably going to be a little different in your home, depending on lighting etc.

I would have it installed then bring home samples. What you think will work in the showroom, often doesn't when you get it home.

I'm looking at the same stone- I was considering using it as a counter and a backsplash. I can't imagine putting up something that might take away from the beauty of the Macubas slabs. But I worry that may be too much- depending on the slab.

Yes I would love to continue it for my backsplash but I need 55 square feet so it’s not in the budge.

We just put in Fantasy Macaubus counters. I would suggest you do not pick backsplash until yours is installed and you have painted your space. It looks so different in our house than it did in the warehouse. We repainted our kitchen (we did an entire remodel) and that also really changed the look of the slab.

Putting the same slab on the backsplash would have been pretty great, but wan't in the budget. I have ordered backsplash tiles that look hand made, and have some color variation so they are cream, grey-ish and beige-ish. All of the blue tile options we brought home looked too heavy. The tiles are backordered, however, so I have been looking around more. I feel like the ones I picked are very pale, I kind of think darker would be better. Its hard to pick the right color, my slab ranges from taupe to grey to blue. BTW, I was very concerned out my slab being busy - my husband loved the "river" of blue through it and wanted that area on the island. But I didn't want so much movement on the perimeter so we asked the fabricator to cut it so that the quieter areas were showcased, and we didn't really use any of the white, swirly areas except on the coffee bar. I WISH I hadn't done that - that is my favorite part now! I don't know why I was scared of it. My least favorite parts are the quiet parts.... So, just know that it will look far less busy than you think when it is flat as opposed to vertical in the warehouse.

IfI had it to do all over I think I might have kept this slab for the island and coffee bar and then gotten something dark grey, maybe brushed for the perimeter to add contrast.

And in case you are wondering, we've had it in for about 4 months and its been bullet proof! I was concerned at first and careful but now I drip stuff all over it and its really fine.

J Pru, it’s beautiful! They are installing mine today. I haven’t ordered backsplash yet. I’m pretty sure I will order what I picked out but yes I wanted to wait until it was in my kitchen to make the final decision.

J Pru. Are you looking at the Mallorca white tile?

The ones I ordered (and are backordered) are Soho Studio, Serena series and I think they are the serena white option.

@Amanda M but they look pretty similar to what you had. The Soho ones have some color variation, they aren't all the same color white

Nvm i see it above lol Is it the Mallorca in white? Do they have the hint of blue in them? Hard to see in the pics but i love how u can see some color variations in the tile

Yes white Mallorca tile. I almost went with the gray/blue but decided on white. The Tile Shoppe had 3 different color variations of the tile.

Good to know! I have this countertop in the home we purchased but the current backsplash is hideous (the previous owners went with a teal green glass tile). I cannot wait to change it 🤪

Beautiful kitchens! I just bought Fantasy Macaubus and am trying to find the perfct white for cabinets and walls. Can you share what colors you used? Both of your kitchens are amazing! I'm trying to do a beach condo from my house and not being there is so hard
