Moved into a charming 1950's New England style Cape Cod built in the 1950's. The kitchen is rustic with red cherry cabinets and black tile floor. Any changes to the cabinets and floor will be WAY down the road. The cabinets are in beautiful shape. Question is what to do with the window treatments for the 2 kitchen windows. They are on the smallish side (29 inches width and 36 inches length) and are old which is expected in an older home. Photo after photo I don't see anyone really doing window treatments (particularly fabric), but I'm torn on what to do. I feel like the 2 windows need something. I love classic, traditional looks but it would be great to "lighten" up the room somehow and lean into the New England Cape feel. Cute fabric roman shade? Bamboo? Faux roman shade? We really don't need the privacy. I just think it needs to be "dressed" somehow. Photos attached. Thank you!
