What type of material is this flooring? Ceramic, porcelain, linoleum,?

I believe this is linoleum kitchen floor

It looks like sheet vinyl, not linoleum. Have you tried bleach with hot water? You might also try rubbing alcohol.

Have you used rugs with rubber backing on the floor? It's a common cause of yellowing.

any other potential solutions? i will try both of thise methods tomorrow afternoon! i haven’t used any rugs or anything on the floor

magic eraser?? used lightly to see if it works. it might take the finish off, so go slow.

I can try all these methods and get back what about this stain on the same flooring?

Casey - I’m no pro, but my wild a## guess here: could those yellow marks be from the installation? Like the glue or whatever compound used to install the floor? Perhaps it seeped through the vinyl.

On the stain, try a bleach/water solution - apply, and let it sit for a bit. You should start to see the spot fade if it is going to work.

Another thing to try is a degreaser/cleaner (like Zep) in case the stain is from a grease or cooking oil spill.

The marks and the spot may be from the same substance - a spill that was streaked when wiped up with a spot that was missed?

Have you tried a cleaner? like an allpurpose spray cleaner?

A family member had vinyl flooring that yellowed much like this. It was determined that it was from tracking in residue from blacktop paving (much of it was around the house and there was lots of puttering out there). Though the paving was old, something about the sneakers worn out there combined with the residue and it was constantly brought into the kitchen. The staining happened over time. There was no cure for this and the floor had to be replaced.

This experience is one more incident that goes in favor of street shoes being left at the door.

I dont wear shoes in the house but i appreciate this
