That bloom is incredibly beautiful, Helen, but I have to mention that it's a ringer for my Young Lycidas. Do you grow that rose and is it nearby? How large is your bloom? It looks huge. I hope it continues to grow and bloom with more beauties. Diane

Diane, it's a great compliment that QS-29 has some of Young Lycidas' look. I love my Young Lycidas in a pot. QS-29's petals have a pointy look to them , and I love its pointy look. Its current bloom is 2.25" right now. It looks huge in the photo because the seedling is small :)

I have Young Lycidas in the front yard and Quick Silver is in the backyard. The roses next to Quick Silver are James Galway and Spirit of Freedom. With Quick Silver as its parent, I think QS-29's canes will not as lagging as Young Lycidas'. It's still very young, so I will keep an eye on it to see how the blooms will look when the rose is more mature. Helen

rifis, an example of fragrance difference between a young rose and a mature rose: my first year bare root Scepter‘d Isle had no fragrance. In the third year, it is very fragrant. Helen

Rifis, regarding to fragrance child prodigy, it currently doesn’t have any fragrance. Having Quick Silver as its parent, even if it has fragrance later, I have a feeling its fragrance could be mild. Helen

It's so beautiful, who cares what it smells like, lol! Begging pardon of all of you fellow rose fans that , unlike myself, REALLY want perfume from their flowers...

What an incredibly stunning rose! I dead-headed my Quicksilvers, but maybe I should let them set hips and trying sowing seed - if I got anything even half as beautiful I'd be thrilled! Helen, if you ever decide to try taking cuttings and selling them, please let us know. I would buy one in a heart-beat!
