Sorry for the delayed reply and thanks for the great question --

This shower is 8'-5" long and 3'-7" wide. The clients didn't express a strong desire for a built-in bench. At the "vanity end" of the shower (the best place for a built-in bench) they really wanted to place plants, since they had plants near their old tub, and they wanted to give the shower a natural & 'wet room' feel. The moveable bench also allows them to sit closer to the showerhead, and the teak material brings in a bit of the 'Japanese zen' spa feel they were going for in this bath.

Can you tell me the name and brand of the shower tile you used? I love the texture look of it.

Hi and thanks for the question. This textured tile is from the “More” collection by Piemmegres, in the color "Tortora (Textured)". We purchased the tile from Mosaic Tile Company in Northern Virginia. You can find the tile on their website here.

It sounds like the necessary space accommodation is another good argument for a moveable or non-permanent bench (either instead of or in addition to a permanent one).

In addition to multiple shower heads, a handheld showerhead is also invaluable from a universal design perspective.
