Who decided the color and sheen of the trim. I use schluter trim all the time and never shiny unless I want it. BTW the box above the FP for the TV IMO was a bad idea so if the trim really bugs you I would remove that box for sure . It also would be a good idea to post pics from further back.That box will forever limit the choice of TV when that one goes.

It looks like it's installed correctly to me. Doesn't it match the trim above? I think you will get used to it and not even notice after a couple days.

Is it that you don't like the shine on the trim? Is that the issue? If so, as a DIY solution, you could mask off everything around the trim and rub it with some fine steel wool to take the shine off. If you are careful and take your time, you should be able to get it uniform with a more matte finish, if that would make you happier.
