I often have bedrooms in a different floor materil so I would get something in a darker finish for the new floors and if that cherry flooring works in the bedrooms then leave it. I have to IMO it is a bit hard to work with so a darker type maybe walnut look for the other flooring would be good.

As Patricia suggests, the bedrooms can be considered separate entities for budgetary concerns.

Personally I would work with a floor that I LIKE rather than a floor that matches an area that is not in the public eye.

I'm a fan of light natural wood floors. In reality, cherry and maple go very well together because of the grain. The GRAIN in your photos is an 'oak' that has been stained cherry red. I would look at an oak to keep the grain. You can find several different types of vinyl products that have a pink/peach tinge to them.

Probably the best bet is to take a plank of your floor shopping with you. Bring home a few samples (store lighting is VERY different from HOUSE lighting) and make the decision from there.

REMEMBER: The MAN MADE vinyl plank products (or anything that has a photo on it) will NO LONGER be available in 1-2 years. Yes. The natural 'run cycle' for a faux finish product like laminate or vinyl = 18 - 24 months. It can be much less than that if there is a SALE on the product you choose. It means they are getting rid of it to bring in NEW faux finish floors.

If you *think you will change the bedroom floors in the next 7 years, then purchase everything RIGHT NOW. Because you will NEVER get the chance to purchase the same floor 3 years from now let alone 7 years from now. You will have put yourself in the same position as you are in today...but in reverse.
