Did you head back to the manufacturer of your sconce to see what they might have that coordinates?

I think a flush mount, with a very simple profile and fabric shade, would look elegant and not compete with your sconces. Not necessarily this one, just an example. Obviously, you’d want the fabrics to match.

hmm my first question, as this is an entry why isnt there an overhead light? have you contacted an electrician yet? also you said it was slopped? lastly what wattage bulb is in the sconce?

Not sure why there isn't an overhead light. The wattage is max 40. Electrician has been out to provide estimate.

I think I would tip my hat to the sconce without trying to match it. I like this one, which won't draw attention to itself, but which has a soft feeling that goes with the sconce in tone if not anything closer.

Anyway, almost all the 2-tone fixtures involve black metal, and/or have an industrial feel. So I think oblique is your friend. :)

acm - Thank you Very Much for helping out. That fixture is a strong contender at this point. I like the square cap. So true that two tone fixtures these days generally involve black as I'm finding out. I've reached out to the manufacturer but based on the website, it's not looking promising for a coordinating one that will not hang too low.

acm- How do I know if a flush mount can be adapted to a sloped ceiling or not?

Flush mounted lights will need to screw into!the flat surface. You might find a semi-flush light that adapts to slant. Many lighting sites will have a feature notation saying “suitable for sloped ceiling”. Look for a coordinating (color, shine, metal, fabric) design.

i guess that was my point a flush mount light with mount with the slope, you need a semi flush that hang no more than 12 inches or a recessed.

RL Relocation- Thank you for your help. Good point. I’m ready to throw in the towel from this unproductive search for a semi flush and thinking recessed is the answer. I have recessed lights on a sloped ceiling in my kitchen and the bulbs swivel, but only swivel a small amount, not enough to actually swivel point downward. Not sure the degree of the slope but I would say its akin to the slope of a typical stairway . Any recommendations for a fixture that has a good amount of swivel maybe 45 degrees ?

you need what is called a sloped ceiling recessed can, what you have in the kitchen is an

"eye ball" which is just the trim.

RL Relocation, Thank you, thank you for all of your help. So kind of you!! Just ordered that drum fixture, like it a lot and it is the perfect size! Somewhat concerned over the shade color difference between it and the sconce, think that aspect will be okay though. Very happy to be getting something other than a recessed!!

Also thanks for the info on the sloped ceiling recessed cans. I will have the electrician switch out my kitchen ones!! I trained myself to not see the lights in the kitchen, because my contractor told me that was my only option. It will be great to change them out!

Maybe? Not lovin the exposed rounded bulb. This search is very challening. At this point ts either this or a recessed. Leaning toward this...

i just had another thought most pendent lights have a cord, chain or sloped ceiling adpt. what if you used something like that on its shortest application?
