I hope someone else has some suggestions, because the only thing I know is that magic eraser works by being abrasive...so you've just given your dresser a light sanding. Magic erasers are awesome in the right places, and terrible in others.

Agreed…you’ve basically stripped off some of the varnish/paint. Not much you can do.

This is why I silently cringe whenever I see people recommend a magic eraser.

It kinda looks like the piece could use a refresh it wouldn’t be difficult to do a light sanding and update the finish. Either you live with eraser sanding or go there next step and restain.

What it amounts to is you have ruined the finish on your dresser. Magic eraser will make swirl marks on some stainless stove tops and will remove the gloss from formica, makes scratches on glass.

Magic Erasers are evil. Ruined a cabinet door finish in a tiny area a few years ago trying to ”remove” sharpie.
