The Fireplace can be set up one of two ways. You can wire it to either a 15A 120V or 240V circuit. At 120V it consumes 12.5A (1500 Watts) and puts out 5118 BTU. At 240V it consumes 10.4A (2500 Watts) and puts out 8530 BTU.

You can either run 14/2 to a 15A 120V circuit, in which case you will get less watts of heat out of it than if you used 240V. If you use 240V, you need 14/3 (the thing does require the neutral when hooked up to 240).

You also have less lineloss with the 240 Volt connection.

42 Watts for 120 Volts, 29Watts for 240, assuming 50 feet of 14G wire.
