Can we see your space with the new counter .From the info you provided I will 100% agree with Jan.

I'll say this:

Paint the darn walls a soft white, change the rustic finish mirrors . Spend the m money on hardwood for the bedroom.

In Other words.... leave well enough alone for the rest of the tile.

You started something and you were not prepared to go the whole distance . As long as it isn't leaking, you are making changes for change sake and No REAL change in the feel of the bath.

Point? If you love marble, that was the place to begin. Which would have meant a change to ALL , frankly. And all at once.

To me? Marble screams for white cabinetry. . Sorry.

Well Jan, I just painted the bathroom that color and I love it. I do not want hardwood floors in my bedroom, I prefer carpet. I know, the horror!

The pictures don't show the flaws in the tile job in our shower. It's not a quality job at all. We did not build the house, but it is something that is going to need to be addressed at some point. We did a band aid repair because it was in fact leaking.

I can only say the "band aid repair" may have been better as a real fix..........: ) Hope it holds.

I was going to say, try a wall paint color that is a lighter shade in the TM counters. But maybe it's the lighting or the photos on the screen, but the wall color seems off. Again, not in the space so you see it best. Plain white porcelain or just leave everything as is for now.

turn your lights downward. never understood why people wanted vanity lights that light up the ceiling!

Personally, I'd get new lights and new mirrors. the current wood frame mirrors does not work w/the warmer wood cabinets.

You say you don't want to paint the bathroom again but you want marble?? like carrara marble? absolutely not. no way it will work w/any of those colors, or the taj.

the current tile you ahve is perfectly fine.

I do have to agree w/Jan, the bathroom color is a little like vomit. I'm sorry, not trying to be rude, but it's not a good shade for looking into the mirror, applying makeup, etc. and personally, I don't think it compliments beautiful taj.

you need a soft white. would be SOOOO much better.

heck, do the same white that's on the trim, and paint the trim a darker tone that's in the taj.

Or, since you have blue artwork, look at something like this. I gave you a simple black frame mirror and glass vanity lights. (personally I like gold w/taj)

the other combo I really like is this one. I'd paint the water closet the black or wrought iron, bright white trim and a roman shade, and the pure white elsewhere.

or maybe white w/the wrought iron trim work. bring in a gold/black light and gold mirror. hang some green plants near the window. green, black/white and wood look good together.

Or, do this in the water closet. white wainscot, upper black, greenery, new window treatment

see the window? this is a darker blue if you'd rather do this color. the white wainscot keeps it from looking too dark. paint the ceiling the dark color too since your ceilings are tall in there.

very similar to your set up. Taj w/white cabinets and a white tile, mirrors, ORB harware, lights. (sconces are better for face lighting than overhead)

Taj w/Calacatta Marble. This just isn't going to work w/your wood cabinets.

I'd also lose those mini blinds in the WC. do you have to have them?

I LOVE your cabinets!!! And IMO Taj is the perfect counter to go with them. Look up some HOUZZ pics of kitchens and bathrooms that have stained wood cabinets and Taj counters and those pics might help you settle on how to handle the colors and patterns for the rest of the bathroom (floors, shower tile, paint, etc))

There are pros weighing in here which is good. I'm not a pro, but a couple years ago I remodeled my Dad's house and we put in Taj kitchen counters. It was a bit tricky getting a back splash that complimented but did not compete with the Taj. We settled on a tile that was a very neutral (like barely an oatmeal color) in a crackle finish from Crossville ( I think it was called Fleece Ashbury). It was perfect. IMO Taj is so special, which is probably why you chose it!. If you love it, then you probably should choose very quiet materials for the rest of the bathroom so that they can be "silent partners" to the Taj. If you have completely changed what your want (decided you want white counters/gray floors/marble with veins, etc...), then the Taj probably won't work anymore and you'll have to replace it. But I urge you to stick with your lovely stained cabinets and Taj. It's so warm and welcoming. You said you love the look of marble. Maybe you love it bc of the movement. Taj has that movement, just not gray and white.

Any-hoo, I'm not a pro designer but I have redone my whole house without a designer and I feel like there should only be zero-to-one veiny/busy hard surface in any space. And the veiny/busy thing you choose should be something you really LOVE and you want to make everything else in the space play nice with it. Don't choose a veiny/busy thing willy nilly. Choose it bc you love it.

I think we did SW Accessible Beige mixed at 50% for my Dad's house bc there was not a ton of natural light. If you want to lighten it up you could do that. But paint really is the last thing and it looks SOOO different in every space depending on the lighting. Do everything else, make sure you have the lighting you want and it's installed and on, then test and decide if you want to repaint.

The paint is taking AWAY from the Taj Mahal. Sorry. I realize you love it. Not working on my monitor. Kills the love affair counter. Does little for the existing tile OR the cabinetry.. Just muddies the space.

So too the ORB ........faucet and lights. Why? There's chrome in the shower. The room needs a brighter "cleaner" feel until you're ready for a real rip of more.

I paired a similar quartzite, Mont Blanc, with Ann Sacks porcelain Pietra Veneto, which mimics travertine, on the shower walls. I think they no longer carry this porcelain tile, but instead have Strati (same pattern). Photos below are of my guest bathroom / powder room. The countertop, shower curb, shower bench (not shown), and edging are in quartzite. I used AS Texere (linen-look) on the bathroom floor -- I won't recommend it because it is slippery when wet.

So I assume you don't care for my kitchen cabinets or kitchen wall color either? 😏

The chrome fixtures in our shower are the only thing not ORB in our house.

Anyways, I appreciate the helpful comments from posters. Right now, redoing the shower is far down on the list of home projects even though I wish it was something we could tackle sooner.

A master bath is private and far separated from all the other ORB in the house. There is no law against another finish,: )

Limestone large slab porcelain tile or soapstone in a beige color. I’m good at this👍
