We recently bought ash countertops from Lowes for our kitchen. We had them installed, did not use them or the new sink for seven days, and spent that time oiling with mineral oil and conditioner daily (alternating). We starting using them this past Friday; we put a few things on them and started using the sink. Then the next morning I noticed some of these spots. Then a few more. I assumed they were water, tried to sand them, and maybe I'm not doing it the right way but it doesn't seem to help. Also tried peroxide with a q-tip, also not helpful, although I'm real gentle with it all because I'm nervous I'm going to hurt them.

The spots are mainly to the left of the sink and above the dishwasher.

I should also add that we don't have any red wine, cherries, anything red in the house.

I'm in consult with the company but he's trying to figure it out. Thought I'd reach here to see if anyone has any ideas.
