In this case am voting to remove it especially if you aren't using it. It doesn't provide a good focal point and is just unused potential space.

Of anyone has changed theirs, can you add pictures please. We plan on doing new flooring anyway so that is not an issue. Debasing remove or update like this

I vote to remove it, especially if you don’t use it. Not a fan of the bulky corner fireplace. Would love to see other angles of the space but you would have so many more options without it. You could put a low media console/ credenza in front of the windows (to the right of it) to support your tv without blocking the natural light.

When we first moved to SW Florida, our 30+ yo house had a huge fireplace that had never been used. We removed it, and gained 25 sqft of floor space! Never missed it. We did not remove the chimney, in case the new owners wanted to put one in. We never missed it.

Remove it. If you don’t use it, it’s taking up precious real estate in an important room.

I’d remove if you don’t use it, and don’t put in a cabinet. Your room looks pretty full, judging from what I can see on both sides of it.

It just looks so stuffed into that corner, I'd remove it. I'm actually putting a gas stove in a corner like that but it will be much smaller in looks and my TV will be to the left. Of course if you're keeping your TV in the corner you wouldn't be able to do a stove.

Removing the unused corner fireplace will give you much more room and flexibility for your decor as well. We have a corner fireplace also and it really limits our furniture arrangements

Remove it, take new photos and post with exact measurements of your room and furniture. You will get terrific ideas to help you with your “new room”. As the owner, it’s sometimes hard to visualize the entire space objectively. The pros here will be a great help. Just get that corner normalized (no FP and floors restored) and post again.
