Would you consider painting the wall tile Klenk makes a great tile paint it would for sure lessen what is going on in the space . IMO you need a vanity since guests usually use that space for makeup it is nice to have some counter .I happen to like chrome for fixtures in bathrooms and I honestly cannot see dark bronze as an improvement .

I don't think new fixtures will do much. I'd find a new shower curtain and get a matching bath mat.

How about turning the sconces so the light faces down and will light up the mirror?
